Welcome to the site of Hilda Wetting

I started my art eduction with drawing at the Ars Aemula Naturae school in Leiden, where I was born in 1948. Years later I learned how to paint portraits in oil paint at the Vrije Academie at The Hague. After that I acquired the skill of water colouring at Art Studio "J", at The Hague, where I also worked with oil paint again. I grew further as an oil and water colour painter under the guidance by Ben Stolk of Gusto Atelier in Rijswijk and lateron also by the late Joost Verhagen of Atelier-2 at Voorburg, where I started to work with acryl paint.

My work contains portraits in oil paint, models, landscapes, stillifes and interior scenes in water colour, oil or acryl paint.

My inspiration comes from all that I find beautiful. Impressionistic landscapes. The expressive depicting of the passion and movements of flamenco dancers.  The beauty of the fine art and fashion of the 18th century. Of late I am painting realistic still lifes.

I wish you much pleasure in looking through the next pages.

With kind regards,
Hilda Wetting
